For Arnold Palmer For Kevin Walter and Kevin Jordan For Phil Hanes For Jim Judson For Peter Brunette Peter Brunette, Reynolds Professor of Film Studies and director of the Film Studies program, died unexpectedly June 16, 2010 while attending the Taormina Film Festival in Italy. For David Shores David Shores, who is retiring this summer, found his niche — and a home for 37 years — teaching law students. For Pete Weigl Ecologist and Renaissance man Pete Weigl of biology has conducted research on five continents during his 41 years on the faculty. For Fred Howard Math's mild-mannered Fred Howard, who is retiring this year, has brought wit and wisdom to his classroom for 43 years. For Ed Hendricks Historian Ed Hendricks has focused on all things Southern — especially North Carolina and Wake Forest – for the last 48 years. Now, he's retiring as the second longest serving current faculty member. For Bob Beck Psychology's Bob Beck — the last remaining faculty member hired in the 1950s — retires after a half century of service. For Steve Ewing Steve Ewing will retire after having been part of the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy for almost 38 years. For Don Robin Don Robin has spent the past 12 years teaching at the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy. He is retiring at the end of the 2009 academic year. For Thomas K. Hearn, Jr. Thomas Hearn, the 12th president of Wake Forest University, passed away in August 2008, just 3 years after retiring. Hundreds of alumni, friends, students and staff share their thoughts, memories and condolences. For Helen Akinc After a stellar twenty-year career, Helen Akinc, the assistant dean of student professional affairs at the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy, said farewell to Wake Forest in 2007. Students, faculty, staff and alumni share their thoughts. For Skip Prosser Skip's untimely death in July 2007 led to an outpouring of condolences and remembrances from students, players, fellow coaches and the community at large.
