Title: The Alabama Moderate BLOG

URL: http://almoderate.com/

Collection: Alabama Political BLOGs I - N

Description: Politics from a moderate Democratic perspective - painting the Red State Purple. The Alabama Moderate was created by me, a stay-at-home mommy, to give me a place to voice my frustrations with the world outside. At times, that includes daily life and news items, but it usually involves politics. More specifically, it involves Alabama politics, and it’s tough being a moderate in a red state.

Title: Alabama Arise on Facebook

URL: http://www.facebook.com/alabama.arise/

Collection: Alabama State Agency Facebook Pages

Description: Arise Citizens' Policy Project (ACPP), founded in 1994, is a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition of 150 congregations and community groups and some 1,400 individuals united in their belief that low-income people are suffering because of state policy decisions. In a state that by many measures is the worst place for poor people to live in the United States, ACPP believes acts of charity are vital, but they are not enough; we must work to improve harmful state policies. ACPP provides a structure in which Alabamians can engage in public debates with the goal of improving the welfare of all Alabamians.
