Congressional Research Service (CRS) is a think tank
that provides research reports to members of Congress on a variety of topics relevant to current political events. However, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) does not provide direct public access to its reports, nor are they released to the public via the Federal Library Depository Program (FDLP). There are several organizations that collect and give access to subsets of published CRS Reports. This collection attempts to bring all CRS Reports together in one place. For more information on CRS, see the Sunlight Foundations CRS Reports backgrounder (http://bit.ly/CRSReports). Please contact James Jacobs (jrjacobs AT stanford DOT edu) if you know of additional sites hosting CRS reports.

ePortfolios enhance linkages between professional preparation, academic coursework, and technological applications by supporting students, courses, and project advancement through tutoring, project evaluation, and interdepartmental collaboration.
ePortfolio is a 3-year pilot project, which began in the Arts and Administration Program in the School of Architecture and Allied Arts in 2005. The purpose of ePortfolios is to connect students with professional and academic communities through professional digital portfolios, digital skills development, course project gallery and public archive, and to serve as a communication hub – or virtual bulletin board - to connect students to job and internship opportunities, with alumni and other professional networks, and to foster relationships between the university and professional communities.
During Years One and Two of the pilot project, we implemented systems to support students in the Arts and Administration Program to create and manage their ePortfolios.
We conducted program evaluations during the first and second year to assess program management and project improvement.
During Year Three, we are focusing on the development of a comprehensive three-level website that will allow students and faculty to post and manage eportfolios, to work collaboratively on course-based projects and display products in a public gallery space, and a fully private academic archive of student work. We are also working to further cross-disciplinary boundaries with our colleagues in the Center for Advanced Technology in Education and School of Journalism to establish discipline-specific standards and systems that connect students with their faculty, with alumnus, and with employers through a seamless integrated ePortfolio community.

Description:
The Foreign Relations of the United States series is the official documentary historical record of major U.S. foreign policy decisions that have been declassified and edited for publication. The series is produced by the State Department's Office of the Historian and printed volumes are available from the Government Printing Office.
FRUS begins with the administration of Abraham Lincoln in 1861. There are two cumulative indexes covering 1861-1899 and 1900-1918. The organization of FRUS is generally chronological, but the dates of the volumes do not necessarily reflect the dates of documentary history. For example, the volumes for 1900-1918 do not include the records dealing with World War I or the Russian Revolution. Each volume has a subject and author index. There is also typically a table of sources and abbreviations at the beginning of each volume. We're extremely interested -- for purely academic reasons -- in how this collection is being used and would be grateful if users would share that information with us.
