California's governor declared a state of emergency for California's levee system. The Department of Water Resources was charged with identifying and repairing eroded levee sites on the state/Federal levee system to prevent catastrophic flooding. The DWR evaluated more than 50 sites along the Sacramento River Flood Control System.
