Description: The Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission was founded in 1970. It was created because local government leaders from ten counties in southwest Alabama believe that the physical, economic and social well-being of the entire region and its individual communities depends on continuing area-wide cooperation and the sharing of many policies, plans and services.
